US Market Sees the Outselling of Chrome Books For the First Time

In the US recently, for the first time, The Mac range the low cost Google Chrome books of Apple was outsold recently. This milestone was confirmed by Linn Huang who is an IDC analyst. The Verge had obtained this information where Huang stated that Mac OS was overtaken by the Chrome OS in the US when talking about the shipments in the country this year.

It is estimated by IDC that the US Mac shipments of Apple for the latest quarter is to hit around 1.76 million. This means that Chromebooks of nearly 2 million combined were sold by Lenovo, HP and Dell in the first quarter. Though the statement made by IDC, it can be clearly said that the US shipment demands seem to be the driving point.

It is still unclear as to what the picture is outside the country. While the popularity of Chromebooks have gone in the US schools, the clear picture of how things are pertaining to the low cost laptops of Google is doing outside the American market. Most of the date that is got from the market research from firms like Gartner and IDC mainly focused on the wins of Google in the American market. There is no doubt that the milestone that Google has touched will unnerve Microsoft considering that the present time shows an overall decline of PC shipments. The predictions made by IDC about the upcoming months talk about a modest rebound. This is thanks to the few IT buyers who are giving the transition to Windows 10 a thought. The low cost laptop market which is dominated by Microsoft is being challenged by the sale of the IS Chromebooks. It is also expected that Google has plans to bring various Android apps that are compatible with the Chrome OS so that customers are more attracted to the laptops.
