The latest update by Twitter for the iOS called Tweetbot is something that may be welcomed by a lot of people. For the Mac version, the update will soon be released. As a part of the update, a new thing that has been introduced is called Topics. This is a method that intuitive links the tweets together along with a hashtag which is optional and also due to this, it is not necessary that you have to reply to every tweet that you made previously. Though this may be a small feature however this is something that will surely be welcomed especially for those who surpass the limit of 140 characters that is set by twitter.

It has also been confirmed by Jack Dorsey that there are presently no plans that the company may go ahead and increase the character limit from 140. However this has also not stopped people from finding ways to word around the character limit. One of the methods that are used most of the time is called the Tweet Storms. This is a method where the tweets are numbered and organized accordingly. For example ‐ 2/1, 2/2, 2/3 etc. this means that response that they are giving to is based on the incoming tweets that was previously there.

A step can be taken forward by replying to the tweets that was marked numerically with the help of a tweet stream that follows the main one. This helps the person to go ahead and catch up with where they were and also answer or provide the necessary information or even just speak their mind out. At the end of it, the tweets would be chained together so that the person can go ahead and have a look at what the conversation was all about and how the flow went. Tweet storms are used for various reasons and are something that is used by a lot of people.
