Ransomware Detected For The First Time

Transmission Version 2.92has officially been released and actively claims that the malware files of Key Ranger can be removed from Macs that are infected. The first case of ransomware malware was found in Mac. The Transmission BitTorrent which was released just recently was where the malware was found. The Key Ranger malware if it got installed would malicious encrypt the hard drive of the user after 3 days.

Once that happened, in order for the user to decrypt the information would have to pay a certain amount which would act like a ransom so that they can access the information r data and even get the disk decrypted.

Palo Alto Networks has reported to the fact that the company had taken all the necessary precautionary measures so that the spread of the Malware can be curved. Using the security system called Gatekeeper. In short, the Transmission version which was infected will not be installed easily. However, this is something that cannot be used for the drive that is already infected.

Unlike the encryption services of the friendly system, this is something that is becoming a common thing for malware and virus on Windows. The whole aim to create such a virus is to get the victims to pay for it which acts like a Ransom so that it can be exchanged for their data and decrypt their hard drive again.

The malware called Key Ranger that is circulating presently is the first of its kind which is targeting the users of OS X. It is advisable that a person should not pay for it since that can result to more malicious actions, another point that has to be considered is the fact that we cannot say for sure that the developer will actually go ahead and decrypt the disk as per the promise made.
