Apple Gives Intel The Order To Produced The LTE Modem For iPhone 7

There have been reports that the LTE modems being needed by Apple for the production of the iPhone7 will be supplied by Intel. It has been seen that the company has gone ahead and secured a significant amount of LTE chips which is around the range of 30‐40% of the overall production. The remaining orders will be tasked by Qualcomm.

It has also been said that around 1,000+ Intel employees are working on the preparations of the LTE modem called Intel 7360 which is for the lineup of iPhones. The chip is said to have the speed of 450Mbps for the downlink and 100Mps for the Uplink speed. With this chip, a person can go ahead and have a faster experience when they are browsing online, streaming any video, downloading any kind of app. And other such internet related tasks.

Presently Qualcomm is the company that Apple sources all their iPhone LTE models which include the chipset of MDM9635 that is present in their iPhone 6s and 6S Plus. The downlink speed that it offers is around 300 MBS while it gives a 50 MPS of uplink speed. Since the past 3 years, the exclusive supplier for the company is Qualcomm. They have been catering to al the LTE modems that are needed by the company.

It is also believed that the company in future will also come up with a chip that includes the LTE modem and the A series processor which will be a chip along with a system. This chip will have a better power management facility as well as improved speed. To achieve that particular goal, it could take the help of Intel to go ahead and ensure that the goal is achieved. This could help to ensure in the fabrication of the 14 nanometer process that is advanced.
