FBI Director Says, iPhone Case Might Set An Example

As per the latest updates that have been going on between the FBI and Apple pertaining to the unlocking of the iPhone, James Comey, the FBI director, recently admitted that the litigation of San Bernardino is about setting a precedent. It is has been reported by The Guardian, the admission was made by Comey when he had testified in front of the Congress committee while being under the oat.

When he was questioned about the fact that by doing something like this, the entire police department of the country would also be able to gain various kinds of access for iPhones that was locked, he had agreed to the same.

As per Cyrus Vance, the District Attorney of Manhattan said that they also have around 175 cases that are awaiting results after the FBI case; the plan was to bring these cases in front of the court. It is believed that Comey seems to be going very ways on Apple. Bruce Sewell the top lawyer of Apple next week is said to come in front of the same committee so that he could also testify.

As per the CEO of the company, Tim Cook, a statement was said that creation of an iPhone unlocking tool in this manner is said to be software that is just like cancer.

On a recent poll that was taken by the American Public, there are around 51% or people who are saying that the company should go ahead and unlock the phone. However around 33% of the people said that it should not happened while the count of the number of people who had not decided was 16%. Even the victims and families of the San Bernardino shooting are also divided in this front. There were also contradictory statements made by the candidate of Republican Presidential, Marco Rubio, where in at one point he was standing by the company, however now sides the FBI.
