Jony Ive & Tim Cook Discuss The Intersection Of Fashion And Tech In New Vogue Interview

In the recent interview that was published in Vogue‐ the famous fashion magazine, Tim Cook the CEO and Jony Ive the lead designer of the company gave a tour of the new company’s Spaceship Campus 2. In the interview the duo spoke about the launch of Apple Watch was the company’s realization point for the company’s long term goal.

During the interview, Jony explained how the internal goal of the company has been to come with products that allow users to bond with technology. The first step towards converting this dream into a reality was with the last year’s launch of Apple Watch.

In his comment he mentioned, IPhone did not even exist 9 years back as the products that were being manufactured was too big to be portable. He further said that with the present launch of different products, the company seems to finally be heading towards the company’s dream that was seen Day 1. The dream as he mentioned was to ensure that technology was to be made so personal that it could be worn.

Tim also added on stating that as much as the design plays a vital role, it is also important that it has to blend into a fashion statement. While the companies’ upcoming products which are in the pipeline was still secret, the company’s officials were a lot more accessible and open under Tim‘s reign.

There were also talks about the response that the company got from the world of fashion. One of the main highlights of the conversation included the partnership between Hermes and Apple. The partnership is said to work on a new design for Apple Watch.

Even the tour of the company’s headquarters’ ‐ Campus 2, Tim was in all praise of the fact that during the construction of the new property, all the dirt which was dug, would be used for planting more than 7,000 trees.
